Moot Corp Competition Celebrates 25 Year Anniversary
Universities have a reputation for being a breeding ground for innovation, and with good reason. Google, Dell, Yahoo! and Facebook are just a few of the companies that got their start on college campuses. In 2008, the McCombs School celebrated a quarter-century of business innovators, as Moot Corp, the world’s first business plan competition, marks its 25th anniversary. Read more.

 

Stem Cell Team from Carnegie Mellon Takes Top Prize
A company looking to become the market leader in adult (non-embryonic) stem cell storage claimed the grand prize at the 25th Global Moot Corp Competition held at The University of Texas at Austin May 3, 2008.

NeuroBank, from Carnegie Mellon University, beat out 37 teams from top MBA programs around the world to win the Global Champion prize. The company has developed a breakthrough proprietary technology for minimally invasive extraction, isolation, expansion and cryopreservation of adult neural stem cells. qcue Wins 2008 Texas Moot Corp Competition - 2/08
qcue, an ecommerce solution for event ticket sales, beat out three teams to win the Texas round of the Moot Corp® Competition, the new venture competition hosted annually at The University of Texas at Austin's McCombs School of Business.

Omega Sensors Opens NASDAQ Stock Market - 8/07
On Friday, August 10, Omega Sensors, the 2007 Global Moot Corp Champion, opened the NASDAQ Stock Market. This is the fifth year the Global Moot Corp Competition winner has opened the market. Team members Brad Chisum and Nick Rhea and Faculty Adviser Alex DeNoble joined Rob Adams at the Open.

Omega Sensors Named 2007 Global Moot Corp Champion - 5/07
A patented cutting edge optical displacement sensing technique for use in accelerometers, gyroscopes, pressure sensors, temperature sensors and magnetometers claimed the grand prize at the 24th annual Global Moot Corp Competition held at the University of Texas at Austin on Saturday, May 5. Omega Sensors from San Diego State University beat out 34 teams from the UCLA-Berkeley, John Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon and top MBA programs around the world to claim the Global Champion prize.

NeuroLife Noninvasive Solutions from Carnegie Mellon University is the 2006 Global Moot Corp Champion. NeuroLife Noninvasive Solutions will commercialize the world's first noninvasive intracranial pressure (ICP) diagnostic device.
