FAQs

Who is eligible to compete in the Global Moot Corp Competition?
Teams qualify for the Competition by winning one of our participating competitions.  Here's the list of competitions.

How do I get the password to access the Team Registration page?
If you are an invited team, your faculty adviser or coordinator will have the password. They may contact Ann Whitt at Ann.Whitt@mccombs.utexas.edu to get the information.

Does my faculty adviser have to attend the Competition?
No, your faculty adviser is not required to attend.

What materials are provided for the Venture Showcase?
Each team will be provided one six-foot table and a tabletop sign. You may rent easels, extension cords and other equipment from the AT&T Conference Center in advance.

Is a computer provided for the Competition or do we bring our own?
Teams must bring their own laptop computer for their presentation. A  computer projector will be provided.

Will the judges see my business plan in advance?
The Opening Round, Semifinals and Finals judges will all have a chance to evaluate your plan before your presentation.  The Feedback Round and Challenge judges will only see your Executive Summary.

What are the differences in judging the various rounds?
The Feedback Round is meant to be a dress rehearsal for the Opening Round so it is not scored.  In the Opening Round, the teams get 15 minutes uninterrupted to make their presentations. In the Semifinals and Finals, the judges are allowed to interrupt with questions. The Challenge Round is a free form format with the judges interrupting with questions as they see fit.
