Omega Sensors Opens NASDAQ
On Friday, August 10,
Omega Sensors, the 2007 Global Moot Corp
Champion, opened the NASDAQ Stock Market.
This is the fifth year the Global Moot Corp
Competition winner has opened the market.
Team members Brad Chisum and Nick Rhea and
Faculty Adviser Alex DeNoble joined Rob
Adams at the Open.
"Ringing the
NASDAQ opening bell was a great way to
mark the graduation of our company out
of the academic world and into life as a
technology start-up company. We have
changed our name from Omega Sensors to
Lumedyne Technologies and are now in the
process of raising our Series A
Financing. The attention and
educational experience from Moot Corp
has accelerated this process and given
us the firm foundation we need to launch
our venture," said Brad Chisum, CEO and
Co-founder.

UT Chosen One of the Best Entrepreneurial
Schools
Fortune Small Business
recently did a cover
story on America's best colleges for
entrepreneurs. The University of Texas at
Austin was cited in both the B-Schools with
Entrepreneurial Flair and Best for Executive
Education categories.
The University of Texas at Austin
was named as having one of the MBA
programs which blend real-world
small business know-how with top
academics. The Moot Corp
Competition was heralded as "among
the most respected B-school
competitions."
In the Best for Executive Education
category, the course which leads to
the Texas Moot Corp Competition was
mentioned as a deciding factor. "New
Venture Creation, taught in the
Texas MBA program by venture
capitalist Rob Adams, gives
participants a taste of the VC
funding process. The most promising
proposals are sent to local VCs and
their authors can compete in the
b-school's famed business plan
competition, Texas Moot Corp."

more reasons to support entrepreneurship.
What causes come to mind when you think
about giving to your community? If
you're like most people-regardless of
wealth-you think of religious
organizations, education, health, human
services, arts, and the environment.
However, you should also consider
helping tomorrow's entrepreneurs. After
all, entrepreneurship is the way of life
that offered you a chance for success.
