 Spring
in Austin,
Texas means
another Global Moot Corp Competition! Since 1984, teams of
graduate students have been making this one of the most
compelling business competitions in the world. Congratulations
to all who qualify, and to each team, the best of luck.
We
are particularly excited about this year, as we expect a very
full competition, with about 60% of the teams coming from
North America, and 40% from
the rest of the world. This translates to a rich environment
of people, cultures, and plenty of interesting businesses to
watch in action. The format will be similar to recent years,
and include some of the well received changes from last year.

Medical,
Technology and Consumer Ideas

 Thirty-five
teams of MBAs will gather in Austin to compete in the
"Super Bowl of world business-plan competition." The ideas
they are pitching are as wide ranging as the geographical
distances of their hometowns. Teams from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Great Britain,
Norway,
Thailand
and all corners of the U.S. will compete
for the title of Global Champion.
The
ventures feature lifestyle enhancers such as an
environmentally friendly product to control pests, energy
efficient acoustical ceilings and technology to improve the
shelf life of tropical fruits. Medical products such as an
automated infant massager, innovative eye drops to treat
age-related diseases and a periodontal disease solution will
be pitched. A hybrid electric technology for buses, an equine
salt supplement and an online instruction program for school
districts are some of the services being presented.

Plan
to Attend the Venture
Showcase |

We
invite you to attend the Venture Showcase in honor of the
visiting MBAs on Thursday,
May 3 from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM. The teams
participating in this year's Global Moot Corp Competition will
be showcasing their ventures.
The
Venture Showcase will be held on the first floor of the
Executive Meeting Center at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown
Austin, 500 North IH 35.
