2010 Texas Moot Corp Competition Semifinals


Come hear the latest new venture ideas coming out of UT Austin at the Texas Moot Corp Semifinals on Wed, Feb. 3 from 4 PM – 7 PM in CBA 2.202, CBA 3.202 and CBA 6.420 of the McCombs School of Business on the University of Texas at Austin campus. Thirteen teams will compete in three divisions. A wireless non-contact vital signs monitoring system, a richer way to experience sports broadcasts on TV and a web portal for medical tourism are some of the ideas being pitched. Come cheer on your favorite UT team. You’ll come away inspired to start your own venture.

4:00 PM  Digital Proctor
  Digital Proctor is revolutionizing online education with a novel internet identification technology. We have a signed letter of intent from our first customer; an act of Congress forcing our market to consider using us; a patent filed on our core techniques; and a demo proving our technology actually works.

  RookieCast provides a richer way to experience sports broadcasts on TV. Game announcing is largely unchanged from its origins in the 1960s: almost all games follow the 2-person play-by-play and color commentator format. RookieCast provides new and interesting takes on commentary from game announcers calling games through the web.

5:45 PM Hippo Bubble Games
  HBG educational software empowers children to learn on their own terms in a fun flexible environment. Our software applications are based on children’s natural learning processes and include three platforms: narrative-based games, sandbox environments and interactive modes. Our first product immerses children in a fun world of computer programming concepts.

  Wino is targeting the large and growing U.S. consumer wine market. Through a website and mobile app, Wino will offer community reviews, nearby deals, local tastings and interaction with wine experts - building dedicated, regional communities of wine lovers by enhancing their wine experience.

  EMRevolution has created an interactive, patient evaluation form specifically targeted to the outpatient physical therapy market. This product offers significant improvements to legacy data capture methods, leading to improved operational efficiencies and reduced costs. Low start-up costs and a quick return on investment will make this an attractive opportunity for investors.

  Navigate is an Austin-based MSTC company on a mission to increase access to fresh water resources by lowering the cost of water purification. Its current opportunity is to commercialize a chlorine-resistant reverse osmosis membrane developed and patented by Dr. Benny Freeman in UT's Chemical Engineering Department.
